Michael J. Kenmir has been going to local science fiction conventions since 1976. Starting with Puget Sound Star Trekkers (P.S.S.T.) and moving to Norwescon, SpokCon, attending MosCon, TreasureCon, OryCon, and DreamCon. Michael Kenmir helped start RustyCon and over the years he has been the Program Director, Asst. Program Director, Tech Support/ Website Designer, Vice-Chair, and Chairman of RustyCon 31-34 and again for this year Chairman for RustyCon 38. Michael has also been a leader in NW Fandom with the Live Role Playing Groups- Black Squadron and the Élan Empire and for many years treated con-goers with presentations of The Imperial Court of the Élan, casinos, small intimate parties for 500 guests, referred to Un Petit Soirée, Trials of State Criminals and Requiems at both Norwescon and RustyCon. In 2001 Michael implemented a memorial to all the convention going fans in the Pacific Northwest called The Celestial Convention. RustyCon 38 will see him again as the Chairman of the Celestial Convention when once again we pay tribute to those Members of Fandom who have crossed through the veil.
In Michael's real life, he is a Property Manager for Catholic Housing Services and manages two Low Income Elderly Apartment buildings in both Bellevue and Redmond.
